  • Describe the concepts and main tools for administering Windows Server.
  • Describe Windows Server and techniques for its deployment, activation, and servicing.
  • Describe Windows Server Core, including specific details about it and ways to administer it.

This module examines important identity roles in Windows Server and discusses Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), and cloud-based identity service Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe AD DS and explain how it works.
  • Deploy Windows Server DCs.
  • Describe Azure AD.
  • Use Group Policy to manage a Windows Server-based environment.
  • Describe and use AD CS.

This module details the core networking services in Windows Server, including DHCP, DNS, and IP Address Management (IPAM). After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe DHCP server and why it’s used.
  • Deploy and manage DHCP server.
  • Describe DNS server and how it works.
  • Deploy and manage DNS server.
  • Describe IPAM server and why it’s used.

This module details services that deal with file systems, volumes, and storage. Students will also learn about data deduplication, sharing, iSCSI, and Distributed File System (DFS) services. After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe volumes and file systems in Windows Server.
  • Implement sharing in Windows Server.
  • Describe and implement Storage Spaces.
  • Describe and configure the Data Deduplication service.

This module details high availability in Windows Server and primarily focuses on the Failover Clustering feature. After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe options for high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Hyper-V VMs.

This module details technologies to implement disaster recovery in a Windows Server environment. After completing this module, students will be able to:
